- PULMONARY CIRCULATION
- 1. It starts in the right side of the heart. Blood that is high in carbon dioxide, passes from the right atrium to the right ventricle.
- 2.From there (right ventricle) it leaves the heart via the pulmonary artery and travels to the lungs.
- 3.In the lungs, blood releases carbon dioxide and collects oxygen. Gas exchange takes place in alveoli.
- 4.Blood that is high in oxygen returns to the heart (left atrium) through the pulmonary veins.
