| Why can contractures? | Muscles becoming stuck due to lack of full ROM and poor positioning of the residual limb. |
| Why can DVT occur? | These are blood clots and is usually because of the anatomical change of the residual limb which increases the risk of a DVT. |
| Why can hypersensitivity be a problem? | This could delay fitting for the prosthetic. Use techniques like desensitization during intervention. |
| What is nuroma? | Bundle of nerves the grouped together after surgery which can cause pain from scar tissue or tension from the prosthetic. |
| What is phantom limb? | When the patient feels that the limb is still there |
| What is phantom limb pain? | When the patient experiences pain where the limb no longer exist. Use modailities such as TNES and desensitization techniques. |
| What are the psychological impacts after surgery? | Depression, grief, or suicidal feelings. |
| What is the 1# thing we look out for after surgery. | Infection |
