| Over-Production | Organisations produce more offspring than can possibly survive so that population remains stable. |
| Struggle for existence | Organisms that experience environmental resistance. E.g competing for food. |
| Variation | Different characteristics/mutations in a population which may give an advantage in severe struggle for existence. |
| Survival of the fittest | The individuals that are most successful (are most suited/adaptable to the environment) will survive. |
